Chic & Elegant Bridal Shower Party Theme
I know that I have been away and not blogged for more than a month but there was a reason to that.. hehe, u see, I have been busy planning and preparing a bridal shower party (held in Perth) for my lil sister who will be getting married in Bali in October and also our family trip back to the OZ land.. to catch up with beloved friends and family..
so, yeah, The Theme for the Bridal Shower Party was " CHIC & ELEGANT" and the main colour theme were "Bright Pink, Lime Green and Yellow" . I made all the cupcakes - 2 flavours with 3 different frosting (1- Lemon lime with coconut cream cheese frosting, 2) Moist chocolate cake with choc cream baileys frosting and choc rice sprinkle, 3) Moist chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting topped with white chocolate pieces). One of the table were for all the eye candy dessert and the other for the savoury food. We also have games during the party and lotss photo shoot (as you can see below *grin..*)
All the effort of weeks of planning, making decoration, searching and buying for the right n little things that added that special touches, baking all those cupcakes and cooking some of the food (with the help of lily n aileen of course - thanks u guys.. hehe or else its gonna be midnite shifts :P) were so worth it to make this extra special party.. Thank you to all the friends who helped and participate in the fun games and all the guests.. it was indeed a very fun sunday afternoon!!! :) - Anyway, I think, Ill let the pictures do the talking!!! *grinnn*

Almond Biscotti

Lately I've been getting the "Baking Bug".... yes.. Ive been baking almost every other night to try all sort different type of dessert, cookies etc.. and last night I finally attempted to try "ALMOND BISCOTTI" ... after my failed attempt 6 years ago. Yes, it failed terribly (the recipe was given by a friend) and at that time, I wasnt sure what went wrong.. :P I think the problem then was, I didn't know biscotti were baked twice even though I've purchased my fair share of biscotti to go along with a cappuccino or latte over the years. Now, I can stroke biscotti off my list of things to try making at home, and I may never buy one again. Because they have quite a hard texture, they are best dipped in coffee or tea (or better yet a latte, *slurpp*), as they absorb the flavor of your preferred morning pick-me-up and will melt in your mouth, and before you know it you're digging into your container for another hit of biscotti, repeating this motion until you run out of one or both (well at least I did.. *giggles*)...

Classic Tiramisu Dessert
I love Tiramisu dessert.. always have but seems like the tiramisu dessert in most restaurants and cafes always lack of the liquour taste.. that rum/brandy taste... or should i said masala wine (most recipes uses this but its very hard to get so I have substitute mine with Baccardi white rum..).. So yeah.. my version of tiramisu dessert is full of *giggles* alcohol.. hahaha, I should call it "Alcoholic Tiramisu" instead huh.. haha.. cos beside that, I also added some Kahlua liquour to the coffee mixture.. *GRIN*...

Mango Cheesecake topped with Mango Jelly

I have always want to make Cheesecakes as apart from Chocolate Moist cake and Carrot cake, cheesecake is one of my favourite cake.. so for my 1st attempt, decided to make this super yummy, light and refreshing Mango Cheesecake topped with mango jelly. The inside of the cake is filled with more chunks of fresh mango bites as you can see from the picture ... I uses 4 whole mangoes for this recipe and its is superb let me tell you.. The taste is very creamy yet refreshingly light and fruity.. plus it is not overly sweet. I think i wont go back to those shops cheesecake from now on!! (except for New York cheesecake tat is.. till i oneday master it.. haha) *grin*...

Parisian Chic Sets Theme

So the story goes like this, a few weeks ago, I got an email in my FB from a friend's friend who wanted a birthday cake for her 1 year old Baby Girl. She said she bought a 'sailor' dress for her daughter to wear and would like the same theme to go with it and was thinking of sea/ocean theme.. and did a lot of brainstorm on the ocean/sea theme that goes well with girl's party. But after seeing the pic of the birthday girl, I told her that to me it didnt really look like a sailor theme and recommend to have the same colour matching to the dress... so yeah after a lot of back-forth emails, we settled with the theme of "Pink and Black" cupcakes with initials, some polka dots to make it looks more kids like cake and black ribbon.. and a big cake for the main cake that has the baby figurine with the matching beret hat and a black ribbon wrapped around the cake to resemble her dress.. including the frills of the cake to resemble the skirt dress.. :P
We also agreed to have 14 cupcakes to be put inside the box for the kids to take home as their goodies bags. And I even did a sample of the cupcake (initially we agreed on white based buttercream swirl with the 'J' initial on tope) and she was happy with it b ut last minute due to some miscalculation error on my side, I decided to do full fondant cupcake design instead.. (*grin..*) but was very pleased with the results as its was so much better and very eye catching.. Anyway, I really enjoyed making this theme and very happy with the results.. :) Btw, I did two flavours, the main cake was Tiramisu flavour cake with Cream baileys frosting and the cupcakes were Vanilla with chocolate chips with strawberry frosting. The big bow of the main cake, this time i decided to use Chocolate flavour fondant.. very very yummie....(*slurpss..*) why didnt i discover this sooner?? now ill never go back to plain flavour fondant.. (*giggles*)....

This was the customer's photos that she sent me and how they arrange the cakes and cupcakes, I didnt have time to take picture of the cupcakes that was in the favour box.. at least this makes up for it..!! :P ~ thanks Jova for the pic.
