It's a Birdie Affairs!! *Girl version Angry Birds"

Still "ANGRY BIRDS' fever.. and since this time round, the request is for a 3 years old Girl.. I suggested to her mum that I'll do a girlish themed for the cupcakes' order.  She agreed and hence the brainstorming began.. I wanted something girlish & sweet & flowery.. so I googled.. and found out that there's a "Valentine Edition" for Angry Bird Game.  So based on this, I created this design.. I super loved it although I am not such a big fan for Angry Bird Game.

I got another request to do the same one but since I never really too keen to do the same design twice (unless customer really insist), I did a different design (still very much girlish) and I even like this design much more than the 1st one! hehehe..

I even created a storyline for it !! wanna hear it?? NO?? ohh.. I insist!! lol... I named this set:

Sweet Engagement!

"WOOO HOOO...I'M ENGAGED!!"... YAY (no, not me.. im married with kids already.. hehe..) Anyway, whats the next thing you gotta do once the guy of your dream propose to you on bended knees?? Call all  your relatives & friends and Celebrate it of course!! And the cake has to be special too!! I didnt have any engagement party (just a simple get together dinner ) and totally regretted it! So when I was asked to make an engagement cake, I couldnt be more happier to make it, my first engagement cake believe it or not! hehe.. Well, customer requested a sweet romantic theme of Pink & white ! So here it is.. I personally loved it, Im not very good at making flowers yet but Im quite happy with this ! What you think?

Belated Merry Christmas 2011

This post supposed to be written on the eve of Christmas.. instead.. its belated.. been super busy (cleaning my apartment) and having to organise a few things in my life.. anyway.. Hope you all had a great Christmas Celebration with your loved one!! Enjoy the rest the 2011 days.. counting to New Year time now!!  Ho .. Ho.. Ho..  and heres a few of the xmas design I did the past 2 weeks, didnt take a lot of xmas order this year due to a recent big order for baby fullmoon package (pictures soon.. *promise* hehe..)

First set of personalised Corporate Christmas Cupcakes order from the Amcor Company in Singapore ~ order for their customer in Malaysia, we communicate via email & BBM and got the company taxi to pick up the order!! hehe.. nice dealing with you Sarah!! glad your customers liked the cupcakes!! :P

Twenty Twelve!!

I know, I Know!!! .. It has been over a month of my dissapearance.. How time really flies, cant believe its the end of January 2012 already!! I havent baked a single goodies since the last day of 2011.. and Gosh how I missed it so!! Ive had so many things to do now, and my last maid's contract finished beginning of 2012, supposed to get my replacement to come in this week but last week my agent called and told me the bad news, they couldnt contact the Filipino maid that we have chosen as the applicant.  I cant believe it, all her paperwork both from Malaysia and Phillipine has been approved under our name and all set to go, just need to buy her ticket to come here... I thought Filipino maids are more responsible and professional over Indo or Cambodia maid.. Guess not huh!! Bad first impression , for me at least!! Now I have to put baking aside cos not only I have to work full time in my office job, I also have to look after my 4yrs old boy fulltime, lucky I can bring him to work after picking him up from the kindergarten... To make matter worse, its Chinese New Year time so I cant get any part time cleaner cos all of them are full booked!! (btw, Happy Chinese New Year to all the Chinese People who celebrate it)!!

So there you go, my full excuse of my dissapearance.. hehe.. and thanks for listening to my rambling!! Anyway, although my next maid wont be coming for another 2-3months (*finger crossed*), I decided i wont totally stop baking or taking order.. I missed it too much :P  I will still take order, although it'll only be 1-2 order a month.  Sorryyyy for those customers who I rejected, but hope you understand.. its only temporary!! :)))

I have tons of photos to be uploaded too, so without further do, heres are the cakes that were longgg overdue!!! better late than never hey!! :P

This LV Multicoloure Monogram inspired design was a simple one, the reason was cos I was soo sick few days before this order due and for the first time, I had to call to cancel my order as Im unable to make 16  3D LV bags for her, but she was so sweet to tell me to do whatever I can and if really cant, then its also fine.. So yeah.. cant dissapoint a sweet understanding customer like that, I managed to make 1 3D bag and the rest just a very simple design :)

Heres another simple order from a customer whose order I have twice rejected due to me being in overseas.  So although I had two other order that weekend, I told her I will do the cupcakes for her son's 2nd birthday as I felt so bad each time I had to turn her down.. The design was from her, it was taken from her son's favourite ABC's cartoon book!!



This was my failed attempt to make a VW car as I think it looked far from it.. :(( luckily it was my close friend who ordered it and I did warn her that I have never attempted to do a 3D car and dont think i can do a good job - true enough.. im kinda embarrased but learned a lot from my mistake!!
I guess practice makes perfect hey!

The smurf was one of the childhood cartoon that I grew up with during the 1980's.. used to read all their comics and storybook! So when a customer (who ordered Thomas themed last year) asked me to make her son "the smurf' themed set for his 6th birthday at kindergarten, I was excited! I mean.. why wouldnt I? they're just so cute!! and well.. BLUE! hehehe.. such trademark.. Sadly, it was almost forgotten by the new generation till recently when its making its comeback thanks to "The Smurf Movies" recently showing in the cinema.  Wanted to take my son to watch this movie but unfortunately was too late as its no more showing.  Oh well, guess have to buy the DVD instead.   

Due to the limited time notice, (less than 10days) and considering I still hold my dayjob (monday to saturday), I can only make 2 smurf characters... nonetheless the famous "Papa Smurf" and after considering which other smurf character to make, I decided to make the "Brainy Smurf" as he's one of the more standout character among all the other smurfs (and we know theres many many different type of smurfs there.. hehe..)..  Let me tell you a lil more about the brainy smurf's character:

"Brainy Smurf is an avid reader and keeps a lot of books in his house (mostly his quotations); his books are entitled "Quotations of Brainy Smurf," which contain Brainy's purported "folk wisdom." Few, if any Smurfs, read the books and are annoyed each time Brainy attempts to get his fellow Smurfs to read the books.  Brainy Smurf fancies himself as the all-around-brain of the village. Although he acts as though he is second-in-command behind Papa Smurf, this isn't the case and even Papa Smurf doesn't seem very fond of his sanctimonious attitude. In fact he could be considered as the class swot or know-it-all. He is a smurf that can be distinguished from the others because he wears thick glasses as he is extremely short-sighted. Adorably cute hey!! hehehe.. i love brainy smurf although he can be soo annoying!! as for "Papa Smurf", whom according to the wilipedia, "At 542 years old (546 in the movie) is the third-oldest Smurf after Grandpa and Nanny,^[1] and well above the typical age of the other Smurfs, which are approximately 100 years old. He is quite energetic for his age, and is easily distinguished from the other Smurfs by his red clothes and his bushy white beard, which was brown in his younger days".  WOW.. I didnt know The Smurf can lived up to few hundred years.. lol.. guess I just learn something today!! LOL..
