Tinkerbell Themed Party ~ Pre-planning

Fly To Your HeartFrom "Tinker Bell"
Words and music by Michelle Tumes
Performed by Selena Gomez

"Watch all the flowers dance with the wind, Listen to snowflakes whisper your name,  feel all the wonder lifting your dreams..You can fly..

Fly to who you are..Climb upon your star, You'll believe you'll find your wings.. fly to your heart..

Touch every rainbow painting the sky, Look at the magic glide through your life, A sprinkle of pixie dust circles the night, You can fly...

Fly to who you are..Climb upon your star, You'll believe you'll find your wings, Fly Everywhere you go
Your soul will find a home, You'll be free to spread your wings , Fly ..You can fly to your heart...

Rise to the heights of all you can be ..Soar on the hope of marvellous things

Fly to who you are..Climb upon your star ..You'll believe you'll find your wings , Fly Everywhere you go...Your soul will find a home..You'll be free to spread your wings, Fly You can fly to your heart...

Im sure all your kids whos a tinkerbell fan will knows this song.. the main song from the tinkerbell's movie.. "Fly to your heart".. and yuppp u guess it right.. Its a "TINKERBELL Themed Party"....

When a friend asked me to design a cake and dessert table for her daughter's 3rd birthday, initially she wanted to do a minnie & friends themed party.. but last minute change her mind as her daughter just got so obsessed watching the tinkerbell movie over and over again.. and honestly I couldnt be happier and got soo excited just thinking of all the pretty details I would do for this..

I started off by googling about tinkerbell and brainstorms on all the words associated with fairies.. and thinking of all fairies related stuffs.. tiring but fun hehe.. so yeah.. started off by designing this fairy invitation below:

The rest of the ideas just came in together nicely.. the main colour themed that I choose for this was Pink, Lilac and Green.  I wanted to create a soft magical fairytale themed.. so didnt want to use too many strong colours.

The Thank you label tag for the sweet caramel popcorns pack

Printed a tinkerbell image and placed it in the frame - really brings out the themed!!

Food Labels

This are the garland I made for the birthday girl - spelled out her name in this beautiful elegant tinkerbell garland..

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Cake

Another Disney Theme and this time, the customer requested to have the mickey mouse's clubhouse as a fondant topper! I loved making all disney related theme as they're just so fun to make and colourful to see!! and my son super duper lovedd this cake!! Almost too sad to give it away!! :((

Mickey Mouse Cupcakes Set

Did this simple mickey mouse cupcake's design but turned out to be very appealing.. so in the mood to  take lotssaaa picture with it.. *lol* .. and I had to literally beg my son to lend me his favourite mickey mouse soft toy that we got him since he was 5mths old and he's so attached to it that it goes with him whereever he goes!!

I love Polka Dots!!

This seem to be quite a popular design as this is my 3rd time making the polkadots cupcakes and my 2nd time doing this set.. guess its the polkadots that attracts heheehe.. i must admit.. I lovedd polka dots!! so classic yet so cute!

This cake was ordered by a customer in Australia (we communicated thru email and call) for her niece - Belle's 1st year birthday.  Not only she's ordering this cake for her lovely niece, shes flying up to Msia to celebrated it together... *Awwwww... isnt she's such a sweet sweet aunty?? * hehehe.. im sure ur niece will love this cake Ashley.. thanks for the order ya.. hope u'll love it as much as I loved making em..*grinnn..*

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 3D Cake

MEESKA..MOOSKA.. MICKEYYY MOUSEE...!!! Yup..Ive been hearing this everyday at least 2 times a day for the past hmm.. lets seee... 2 years+++ in our living room TV.. and more lately.. hahaha.. Y? cos my almost 3years old son is crazzzzyyy about mickey mouse and when we're home, we couldnt watch any other TV channel.. He monopoly the TV all to himself.. (sigh..,t soo true when they said, when you hv a child, everything becomes their..including your TV remote.. lol.. hahaha..).

Anyway, I got an order to do a 3D Mickey Mouse Clubhouse's cake and Im so familiar with it cos haha ive been watching the cartoon for God knows how many times.. LOL...

I really wished that during Branden's 1st Birthday, I know how to make this cake cos then, I actually went to about 5 different cakeshops asking them if they can make such cake and NONE of them can!! sigh.. so yeah hv to settle wif a 2D square looking cake tat doesnt even look like anything like this..

Okay, back to the cake.. this cake was ordered by one of my good friend living in Kuala Lumpur and she came all the way to Seremban to pick up the cake and I organised an afternoon teaparty for her (see next entry).. This cake is for her 2nd son's birthday, Dylan and I also made my first set of cupcakes for his 1st Birthday last year.

Im actually not very happy and satisfied on the cake as I have a problem with the cake after baking, it couldnt come out from the dome pan and yes..this is the 2nd incident.. (remember my 3D bear cake), I think I have to buy a different dome pan.. sigh..cos it alwaysss get stuck!!! *double sigh**.. so yeah, during this process, the cake actually fall apart.. and I couldnt save the 3rd small dome.. (supposed to join it together to make mickey's round head..I didnt have the time to re-bake so I thought, I'll just try to salvaged it the best I can.. so yeah..that's why it looked like this but Im glad I learned something and hopefully next time I can do a much better looking Mickey Mouse's clubhouse 3D cake..

Minnie Mouse Cupcakes

Another theme of minnie mouse but this time on cupcakes.. just a very simple design as its quite a last minute request.. Happy Birthday on top of the cupcake with a 3D minnie mouse face made from fondant icing... Flavour was Tiramisu cupcake frosted with espresso buttercream icing.. Happy Birthday Winnie.. Hope you stay sweet and pretty!!!

Thomas and Friends Cupcakes Set

Another Thomas and Friends theme and this time its for a 3 years old boy who lovessss Thomas and Friends (and now my 2 yrs old son is into this as well.. ohh NO!!!!). Anyway, back to this post, this time around I was more confident in making Thomas theme as I have done enough research on this cartoon characters and have watched the DVD countless time.. (didnt i mentioned that my son is into this too... hehe..), so yeah , I pretty much knows more of the different characters and just for those of you that have children..."PLEASE (dont say I didnt reminded you..), NOT TO introduced Thomas and Friends to them cos u know WHAT??? I checked out Thomas and Friend's corner at Isetan KLCC and I was quited shocked to find out that there was like 50 characters of Thomas and Friends trains there... each with its own name, Gordon, Spencer, etc.. (just on top of my head those that i remembered) and boy..its not cheap at all!!!!!

So yeah this time, since the Birthday boy is more into Percy (the green one which is Thomas's bestfriend , see told you I really did my research).. I positioned Percy in the middle as the main topper. hehe.. and The rest of the 3D trains are Thomas (the blue one - dohh..) and James (the red one, James is an older train of the 3 lots so that's why, if any of you noticed, I made his face looked older with wrinkle lines near the eyes ares.. *giggles*).. hehe..

Anyway, these set of cupcakes are available for order for those of you whose lil ones adoresss Thomas & Friends ( I have to make another set soon for my son as he was crying when he saw the customers walked away with his 'so called' Thomas cupcakes..poor Branden..) ..

Once again Happy Birthday Vel Prasad, Hope you like your Percy and Your Thomas and Friends cupcakes set.. !!!

Minnie Mouse Theme

I have always loved polka dots.. so I enjoyed making this Minnie Mouse Theme Cakes and its matching cupcakes very much. I think Polka dots are just so cute.. and cos of its striking opposite colours makes it soo eye catching.

Did this fullcake 6" cake with 10 matching cupcakes sets for a request of a customer for her 2 years old niece who just adore Minnie mouse and Mickey mouse. So I decided to do this theme. The cake flavour was chocolate fudge cake with milo frosting and the top of the cake - ie the minnie's head was also a cake covered in fondant.

Was quite satisfied with the end result and just cant stop taking lots of pics with all the different background.. simply too cute I think... *grin*...

My First Decorated non-cupcake.. :)

Theme: THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE

"They're two they're four they're six they're eight

Shouting trucks and hauling freight

Red and green and brown and blue,

they're the really useful crew..."

"All with different roles to play

Round tidmouth sheds or far away,

Down the hills and round the bends,

THOMAS AND HIS FRIENDS.. "

"THOMAS'S HE'S THE CHEEKY ONE

James is vain but lots of fun

Percy pulls the mail on time

Gordon thunders down the line

E M I L Y really knows her stuff

Henry toots and huffs and puffs

Edwards wants to help and share

Toby, well let's say he's square ...."

back to chorus..

That was the theme songs of Thomas and his friends that I always hear on TV when my son watches the cartoon.. I didnt really take much notice of the words except for the tunes.. Till ..now after I did my first big cake (flavour was Mad Banana with Chocolate Chips and extra banana fillings in the middle, topped with a tinge of orange flavour buttercream frosting) on Thomas themed and research on the theme and its song.. *giggles..* lets say that I very well knows it by heart and now the song keeps playing in my head nonstop.... hahaha.. And BOY OH BOY.... didnt know that there's many friends of Thomas.. as after I did this cake for a friend's 5yrs old son who really loves Thomas, I had a few enquiries asking me if I can do Thomas n Friend's cake.. I thought b4 Thomas only have around 3-4 friends.. didnt know there are 8 (EIGHT!!) of em' .. *lol* ... hmm.. who wants Thomas and his 7 friends cake???!!!

Happy 5th Birthday Weijian, Hoopee you like the cake and

had a wonderful Bday celebration... God Bless You..!!
