Year of The Dragon ~ It's A BOY!

In most of Asian's Culture, following the Chinese custom, when a newborn baby turns one month old, usually the family will hold a ceremony party to celebrate the first month of the baby's life (the Chinese term translates as "FULL MOON").  In Malaysia, a fullmoon parties usually either held at home or in a restaurant serving a buffet spread for the guests. It is such a happy occasion  to introduce the newborn to their friends & family.

Although a fullmoon cake was not common among the traditional family but recently it has becoming a trend to have such cake among the modern parents.  So recently I have been getting quite a lot of orders for this type of celebration.  Here some of my recent works 

Marion Caunter's Baby Shower

This post is seriously longg overdue (*sorryyy).. and as of today, Marion's daughter ' Leia Rose Caunter Nasarudin has already turned 6months old.. (hehehe.. tats how behind i was. :P) 

YES!!  I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to make the Baby Shower Cake & other goodies for Marion Caunter's baby shower back in November 2011 (last year).  For those of you who doesnt know Marion Caunter (go n google her name please.. ).  Well.. let me just tell you a bit about Marion Caunter for those still wondering.  She is Malaysia's  television personality. 

Her list of biography includes:

* In 2010, she became the host of E! News Asia alongside Channel [V] colleague Dominic Lau.

* She also hosted The Biggest Loser Asia Season 2 in 2010.

* She joined Channel [V] on November 20, 2006.

* TV Host Presenter - She became known for being the host of The 8TV Quickie, a daily 15-minute talk show on 8TV.

* She was also 8TV's urban content executive in charge of pre- and post-production of the stations in-house shows, Latte at 8 and Flava.

* She, alongside Awal Ashaari, also hosted three seasons of One in a Million, 8TV's reality singing contest

So yeah.. that explains my excitement when I got the request from "Ung Yiu Lin" , who is a Young, Beautiful, and Talented owner of Shoesshoesshoes, IdyLinn, KLutched.   Her KLutched collected was featured in Paris Fashion Week where the Parisians witnessed her and Zareen’s creations with KLutched. I first did a mini dessert table for the launching of one of her collection at Bangsar, ShoesShoesShoes outlet and from there, Yiu Lin has approched me twice for cake order and this time round, its a baby shower cakes & goodies for her good friend "Marion". 

The theme that Yiu Lin proposed was Chic Glamour and her only request was to have Marion's figurine with her baby bumps sitting on her Set's dressing table looking glamoursly pregnant and with a Hermes Bag!   The rest of the details was left up to me to design.. I was happy and ecstatic obviously! So yeah.. here goes the pictures of my final goods!

"Sugar & Spice..and Everything Nice ~ That's What LIttle Girl are made Of"

Yup..another baby shower order to do..and this time its a Girl..yay.. loves doing girly stuff as theres just soo many more things you can do with a Baby Girl Baby Shower Themed...

So after some consultation from the customer (the friend who's organising this Baby shower party), she told me that the Mummy to be loves to cook.. and infact..she's very good at it.. (Jamie Oliver's standard..~ wow.. what a lucky hb n kids.. to have her.. hehe..).  So yeah.. wanna me to come up with a kitchen theme.. so after few hours of brainstorming and lotsss of googling.. I've come up with this theme.. "Sugar & Spice.. and Everything nice ~ that's what little girl are made of! This theme will reflect the kitchen theme very well and at the same time I reckoned, it goes well with having a baby.. as I believe its truly like, sugar and spice.. sweet and spicy.. cos you dont just get to enjoy the baby's cuteness and sweetness but all the spicy works that goes with it.. eg: nappy changing, sleepless nite.. and the list goes on and on...

Anyway, back to the cake topic.. so for this Baby Shower Themed, I did a 3D cake to resemble a kitchen and the Mummy to be with her big belly cooking and smiling so happy, behind the counter is the sugar n spice's figurine to match with this theme.. and the baby blankets and baby blocks to resemble that this cake is for a baby shower.. as I feel otherwise there isnt any touch of 'Baby' in this cake..

And for the Guest's Gift Favour, the customer requested a fondant cookies.  I did 2 designs of the cookies and design the packaging according to the theme... and did my first cake pops!! YAY.. finally got around to do this babies..

Bubbly Ducks Baby Shower (Baby Boy)

A very last minute order for a Baby Boy Themed Baby Shower party held in Plaza Mont Kiara.  They leave the theme up to me to decide and to propose on the goods, so due to the last minute timing, I can only proposed the cake, cupcakes as gift favour for the guests, some marshmallow pack to go with the colour theme (blue, white and yellow), individually wrapped caramel popcorn packs and a customised label water bottle.  The themed I went for this time was "Bubbly Ducks Baby Shower" with the main cake to resemble a bubble bath that the "mummy to be" enjoying before the arrival of her precious darling.. cos hahaha believe me (Im a mummy so I know).. once the lil one comes out.. bubble bath is truly a precious time.. which you probably wont get to enjoy!! hahaha... 

IT's A BOY!!!

Yay its a Baby Boy!! What a better way to announced the arrival of your precious bundle of joys by giving out Gift Pack to your closest friends and relatives.. and hehehe.. Anyway, let me tell you who ordered this baby fullmoon cupcakes this time, its my dear customer friend, Stephannie and Alan.  They actually got married last year and ordered the wedding gift cupcakes set (and chocolate set) from me so its such a pleasant suprise to received another order from them for the announcing news of their lil baby boy!!  Once again , thank you guys and CONGRATULATIONS.. and Steph.. dont worry, you'll be one Hot Momma and a Great one too... :))) *cheerssss*...

Baby Shower Themed ~ (Cake, Cupcakes And Icing Cookies)

I had a request to do a Baby Shower Themed for a suprised Baby Shower Party.. (*the hb organised it for his wife ~ how sweettt!!).. and wanted the cake to have them and their dog as the cake topper. He also requested to have the baby mini jumpsuits to be included as part of the decor.. Wanted a full set including the cookies as a Thank You gift for the guests. I managed to find time to also make the cake tower stand.. was quite happy with the final setting!!A soft elegant baby shower themed!! Anyway, get ready for a lot of pics... hehehe..:PP
