Pink Hello Kitty Dessert Table

I was so excited when I was asked to do a "Hello Kitty Dessert Table" my all time childhood favourite soft toys, shes just too cute! All the planning took weeks, lots of searching of hellokitty items, I was so lucky that I managed to find a whole bunch of kitty items. 

Here are the details of the party, all cakes, desserts, decoration, set ups and photos are done by me (yes many many hours of staying up late! )

Pirate Theme Party ~ The Dessert Table

All the weeks of brainstorming, nites of slaving - planning and making templates - cutting, gluing, putting all the things together and very little sleep when nearing the date to make all the dessert for the dessert table were finally paid off after I finished setting up the Pirate Theme Dessert Table and taking the picture at the party!! *Big Huge Grin of Satisfaction** Ahhhhh... totally worth it!! Especially when the birthday boy and his family and friends likes it so much!! hehe..Anyway, let me take you through to the details of my dessert table!!

The Theme was "Pirate Party".  The main colour themed that my customer and I had agreed upon was: Black, Red, Baby Blue & White.  So everything was pretty much designed based on these colours.  We decided to have a Pirate Ship Cake (more detailed pictures on my previous entry).  Flavour was Rich Coffee Cake coated with Cappucino Buttercream Frosting!

I did two designs for the cupcakes, the first one was obviously the cute 'young pirate face' , how can I not do this!! sooo Adorable!! "Ayeee Captain"... (*giggles*)

For the second design of the cupcakes, I decided to use the cupcake wrapper and the flag & skeleton paper toper (custom made).  Totally loving these cute design! 

These cute mini treasure chest box was filled with Gold Chocolate Coins. I used it as part of the table decor and also as the 'Prized' for the games!

I was so thrilled when I stumbled upon this 'ship looking' plastic flower container in my local craft shop as this was just "Perfect" for this and I decided to use it for the marshmallow pops base!!  Luv it luv it lurveee it!!! :P

Cant have a Pirate Theme party without some 'Treasures of the Sea' Right?? Gold Chocolate Coins and Copper Chocolate Coins inside the Cookie Jar!

I did these simple Chocolate Truffles as part of the dessert table! These were so yummy I reckoned! :)

The initial plan was to make a 'bakerella' inspired pirate face Cake POPs.. but I was running out of time for this and they were quite hard to make (need a lot more practice i guess) so in the end, we're both happy to settle for this! Maybe next time when I have enough practice time :P 

Just for sharing purpose, this was the sample that I did for the "Pirate Face Cake Pops", not so good I guess as I made it late at night and in a hurry! Its not very neat as I used a white chocolate instead of candy melt!

I suggested the favour bags to be made using a recycled brown paper with the customised round label topper that I designed for it! My customer had a pair of these 'Wooden Treasure Box" that just goes absolutely perfect with the whole theme!! totally loving it!!!! :P

Made these mini flag tag for the straws.. just thought it goes so well and so whimsical!!

Heres some pictures of the wonderful party!! Some creative games the mom organised includes "treasure hunts", "walk the plank", "Pin the pirate's patch", some colouring activities etc.  Both myself and my son attended it and were so happy to be part of this wonderfuly organised themed party.  Once again, it was nice working with you Jova!! :))

Since Ive posted too many pics and a very long blog on my son's Thomas The Train Themed Party, I decided to post more on his party decor ~ all handmade by me :P

This is the customised paper cupcake topper made from high resolution glossy art paper 128g with customised printed lettering. I did two design, this "Happy Birthday Branden" with a train picture and another design (below) the number 3. Both with the same theme colour and design.

And then I customised this Thank You gift tags in a same colour themed.

Inside the box was a Thomas DVD as a gift Favour to each family

A FUN TIME !!!



I started to be obsessed with theme party when I planned for my sister’s bridal shower party 6 mths ago in Perth, Australia. Right then, I began scounting on pretty jars and servingwares and since its not easy to find/buy them in Malaysia, I even handcarried it all the way back from Australia.. (I know.. what u’re all thinking..told ya I was OBSESSED!! *grinnn*)

The idea to throw a “Thomas The Train Birthday Theme” was due to the fact that My lil boy loves Thomas so much (a while back – now he’s moving on to different things although he still adores Thomas) and he was much spoiled by his grandparents and aunties who bought him many different Thomas toys. So as I was loaded by lots of Thomas toys, I figured it'll saves me time and $$ for the party!

Anyway, once I decided on the colour theme (primary colour was Blue and Red while the secondary colour white and yellow – just to add a splash of cheerfulness..:))), the sourcing and scouring of all things related to Thomas and to my colour theme began.. for weeks, I went to all gifts shops, souvenirs shops, craftshops, scrapbooking shops, toys shops and even scouring the internet for anything Thomas related for my inspiration and decorations of the party!! I actually did all of the decor myself as its very hard to find things like this in Malaysia (Customised Birthday Garland Flag, all the labels etc).

I had a good time and enjoyed every step of the planning & preparation of this theme party.. although there were times stress filled in my head.. (LOL.. cos the time getting nearer.. and soo much things to do.. ) and I thought.. stuff this man.. what did I get myself into (hohoho..) but I guess the end result was well worth it especially seeing the happy smiley face of my son and his little friends.. although Im also glad that its over!!

The party was held last weekend in our side car porch area as it was shaded, thankfully the weather was quite sunny although I was very worried few hours before as the sky was very cloudy and it was a bit windy! I can probably said that it was quite a success as everyone had a wonderful time, although there were a few decoration and food stuff that I totally forgot to serve as we had lotsss of foods to serve and lots of candy/dessert related items.. I was very much overwhelmed that day and at one stage almost huhahahha.. ‘Faint’ (figure of speech of course..:P ) as the night before it took me 10 hrs to make the 3D Thomas Cake ( I did it till 5am in the morning!!)

Obviously more than half of the effort were spend on making this colourful Dessert Table (inspired by Amy Atlas ~ loves her work!!!).  As it was quite difficult to find a certain coloured candies back here, they have very limited in choice! hence the self made marshmallow pops just to add colour!! :))

The Invitation ~ Softcopy

The flower tissue decoration was inspired by Martha Stewart's decor tip (was very easy to make!!) and we hanged balloons (with water to hold it in place) as it was quite windy that day!
