Sweet Engagement!

"WOOO HOOO...I'M ENGAGED!!"... YAY (no, not me.. im married with kids already.. hehe..) Anyway, whats the next thing you gotta do once the guy of your dream propose to you on bended knees?? Call all  your relatives & friends and Celebrate it of course!! And the cake has to be special too!! I didnt have any engagement party (just a simple get together dinner ) and totally regretted it! So when I was asked to make an engagement cake, I couldnt be more happier to make it, my first engagement cake believe it or not! hehe.. Well, customer requested a sweet romantic theme of Pink & white ! So here it is.. I personally loved it, Im not very good at making flowers yet but Im quite happy with this ! What you think?

The cupcakes are for hantaran to the guy's family,
packaged beautifully in this elegant metallic silver box with ribbon and lace! love it!! xoxo

Patrick The Red Dog

"HUH?? Who's Patrick the dog??? " That was my response when asked to do this theme.. luckily thanks to google.. Ive managed to get picture of it.. although not a lot of em.  But patrick the dog is very similar to Clifford the Red Dog (this i've seen), Im not too sure on the difference hey,, think Patcick is the Asian version? Can anybody tell me please? Im quite curious to know! :P

Angry Birds Cake & Cupcakes Set

YES!!!... they're getting popular and as Im writing this blogpost, I just have another enquiry to do another theme of angrybirds cupcakes.. So yeah.. without further do.. heres the pics of angrybirds cakes - it was inspired by another cake artist (but I didnt have the name so yeah.. credit goes back to the artist out there...:) very nice creation!!

Who is Pucca??

When I was requested to make a Pucca Themed cake, I had very little knowledge of this 'Pucca Character'.. all I know was that one of my cousin like her a longg long time ago and that she usually wears red and have her hair bundled into 2 small buns. 

So, Again, thanks to google, this is what i found out about "Pucca".. according to this link: http://www.puccafans.com/en/who_is_pucca.php haha..YES..theres a pucca fans website.

 lol.. now thats something I didnt know of..  :) Anyway, this was the cake requested by my customer for her 9yrs old girl whos a big fan of Pucca..

Hellokitty Theme

YAY!! HELLOKITTY is "IN" again now!! Almost everywhere I went, in shops, I saw Hellokitty, toys shops selling a lot of hellokitty games, tea set, even a card maker and a badge maker.. almost tempted to buy one the other day!! *grin**.. I remembered when I was a lil girl, I used to be soo in love with Hellokitty & friends, the Sanrio Collection, used to collect their stationeries, stickers, mugs, shirt, etc.. They are just too cute.. and pink!! hehehe.. so it wasnt a suprise that a lot of little girls are hellokitty fans.. and that explained this second order on the hellokitty theme!! This time, they wanted some cupcakes, a mini Hellokitty cake and the popcorn pack with the pink polkadots case and the matching thank you tag!!

Baby Fullmoon Cake & Cupcakes Set!

According to Asian Chinese custom, when a baby turns one month old, a ceremony is held to celebrate her first month of life (the Chinese term translates as "full moon"). This coincides with the end of the new mum's confinement period, and both mother and baby are formally introduced to the extended family and friends for the first time. Full moon parties today are often celebrated in many ways; either in restaurant or at home with a buffet spread for guests, to smaller family-only get-togethers. Parents normally host the celebration at home if they have the space, or book and rent a venue (hotel or large restaurant) to accommodate everyone.

For this order, my customer ordered a small fullmoon themed cake, designed were leave to me and I suggested this theme.  As the party was an intimate one, only closest friends and relatives, each guests were given a 'thank you gift' and I suggested to have the cupcakes to be presented into a real cup instead of the normal cupcake liners.   I had lots of fun doing this order as I get to be creative doing all the different design! Time consuming? YES!! But totally worth it!! *GRIN* :P

Pirate Theme Party - The CAKE

About 2 mths ago while I was still on holiday back in the OZland.. I received an email from my loyal customer cum friend who wanted to organise a theme pary for her 10 years old son.  I was like "YAYYY" as I totally loved doing a theme party and to have the chance to do a themed dessert table.  She wasnt sure on what theme would be suitable.  No problem.. I have lotss of ideas in my head waiting to burst out!! hehe.. so at first I suggested to her to do a "Picasso the Painter" theme.. I thought that would be fun, lots of colours, and theres so much to do in a painter theme party! But she wasnt so keen on the idea as the first thing that pop in her mind was "MESS" hehhehe.. fair enuff!!  So then after a bit of brainstorming, I come up with "Pirate Theme".. as I believe its one of the easiest theme you can have.  I mean in Malaysia, its hard to get all these party theme outfit and accessories and not to mention to get all your guests to really participate.  So Pirate theme will be perfect as its easy enough to find a "stripes" shirts.. and swords, and hats.. and make your own mouthstache and eyepatch! So BINGO!! IDEAS SOLD!! yeah... time to rock n roll .. (*wottt..wottt..*..)

Whats the first thing to do?? OF COURSE...!! DECIDE ON THE MAIN CAKE!! and the rest will have to adjust!! So easy enough, she decided to have a 3D Pirate Ship Cake since she actually have a treasure box that she'll use it for the party,, so Treasure Box Cake was out!! Cupcakes was set right away to have those cute Pirate Face design! so yeah.. heres is the cake that I did!  I actually underestimate the time to make this cake as it actually took almost 10 hours to do (excluding the time of making the figurines which I usually do 3 -5 days before).  I was getting very tired when the cake was almost done and nope.. the sail is not even done yet!! *ARRGGHHHHHH...***  Usually when I get very tired, I get aggitated and so even the most simplest task seems hard! I tried to paint the ship to make it look a bit rustic but I was soo frustrated after doing it for 2 mins.  Lucky me.. my hb volunteer to help and boy..was he good at it!! I was thrilled to see the end result and I dont think I could do half of the job he's done! so yeah.. Thank You HB... this cake is dedicated to you!! *grinn.. **wink**.. hahahaa...

Im actually very happy with the end result and I can honestly said to myself that I think this is one of my best 3D cake so far!! So thank you Jova.. for giving me the challenge..(AGAIN!!)  hahaha.. and thank you HB for helping me making this cake! Your support is greatly appreciated!! :)))
