Marion Caunter's Baby Shower

This post is seriously longg overdue (*sorryyy).. and as of today, Marion's daughter ' Leia Rose Caunter Nasarudin has already turned 6months old.. (hehehe.. tats how behind i was. :P) 

YES!!  I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to make the Baby Shower Cake & other goodies for Marion Caunter's baby shower back in November 2011 (last year).  For those of you who doesnt know Marion Caunter (go n google her name please.. ).  Well.. let me just tell you a bit about Marion Caunter for those still wondering.  She is Malaysia's  television personality. 

Her list of biography includes:

* In 2010, she became the host of E! News Asia alongside Channel [V] colleague Dominic Lau.

* She also hosted The Biggest Loser Asia Season 2 in 2010.

* She joined Channel [V] on November 20, 2006.

* TV Host Presenter - She became known for being the host of The 8TV Quickie, a daily 15-minute talk show on 8TV.

* She was also 8TV's urban content executive in charge of pre- and post-production of the stations in-house shows, Latte at 8 and Flava.

* She, alongside Awal Ashaari, also hosted three seasons of One in a Million, 8TV's reality singing contest

So yeah.. that explains my excitement when I got the request from "Ung Yiu Lin" , who is a Young, Beautiful, and Talented owner of Shoesshoesshoes, IdyLinn, KLutched.   Her KLutched collected was featured in Paris Fashion Week where the Parisians witnessed her and Zareen’s creations with KLutched. I first did a mini dessert table for the launching of one of her collection at Bangsar, ShoesShoesShoes outlet and from there, Yiu Lin has approched me twice for cake order and this time round, its a baby shower cakes & goodies for her good friend "Marion". 

The theme that Yiu Lin proposed was Chic Glamour and her only request was to have Marion's figurine with her baby bumps sitting on her Set's dressing table looking glamoursly pregnant and with a Hermes Bag!   The rest of the details was left up to me to design.. I was happy and ecstatic obviously! So yeah.. here goes the pictures of my final goods!

Once upon a Time...

 

"Once upon a time there lives a "Princess" who lives in a Beautiful Big Castle. One day, She was very bored & lonely having to enjoy the luxury of being just a princess .. so one day she decided to explore the castle without anybody knowing, slowly, tiptoeing, she went from room to room .. until she stumbled upon the kingdom's chef's baking room.. She was so fascinated with the warm ambience of t...hat tiny room and the nice aroma of the freshly made cookies, so she decided to have a bit of fun! She baked her first cookies which turns out very black & salty, as she has never baked before, she destroyed the chef's mixer as she didnt know that the butter has to be at room temperature before mixing.. it was apparent that the room was in its upside down state..SUDDENLY, the Kingdom's feared chef came in.. and he was soo MAD.. You see he was actually an Evil Magician who has a bad motive.. so he shouted at her and...." to be continue on my next princess cake...:PPPP hahaha.. "

 

Anyway, heres a veryyy veryy long overdue pictures of the "Princess Theme Set" I did last year!! I have other pictures that is longg overdue too.. I apologised for not updating earlier, this is due to the maid crisis ive recently encounter.. so yeah, not trying to whinge or complain as Im now a fulltime working mother (in a 9-6pm office job), and having to takecare of my 4yrs old son, while trying to juggle cleaning the house, cooking for the family and making these cake order (hence limiting myself to only 1 order a week now)... So yeah..without further do... ill let the pictures do the blogging!! heheeh..:P

Sweet Engagement!

"WOOO HOOO...I'M ENGAGED!!"... YAY (no, not me.. im married with kids already.. hehe..) Anyway, whats the next thing you gotta do once the guy of your dream propose to you on bended knees?? Call all  your relatives & friends and Celebrate it of course!! And the cake has to be special too!! I didnt have any engagement party (just a simple get together dinner ) and totally regretted it! So when I was asked to make an engagement cake, I couldnt be more happier to make it, my first engagement cake believe it or not! hehe.. Well, customer requested a sweet romantic theme of Pink & white ! So here it is.. I personally loved it, Im not very good at making flowers yet but Im quite happy with this ! What you think?

Belated Merry Christmas 2011

This post supposed to be written on the eve of Christmas.. instead.. its belated.. been super busy (cleaning my apartment) and having to organise a few things in my life.. anyway.. Hope you all had a great Christmas Celebration with your loved one!! Enjoy the rest the 2011 days.. counting to New Year time now!!  Ho .. Ho.. Ho..  and heres a few of the xmas design I did the past 2 weeks, didnt take a lot of xmas order this year due to a recent big order for baby fullmoon package (pictures soon.. *promise* hehe..)

First set of personalised Corporate Christmas Cupcakes order from the Amcor Company in Singapore ~ order for their customer in Malaysia, we communicate via email & BBM and got the company taxi to pick up the order!! hehe.. nice dealing with you Sarah!! glad your customers liked the cupcakes!! :P

Twenty Twelve!!

I know, I Know!!! .. It has been over a month of my dissapearance.. How time really flies, cant believe its the end of January 2012 already!! I havent baked a single goodies since the last day of 2011.. and Gosh how I missed it so!! Ive had so many things to do now, and my last maid's contract finished beginning of 2012, supposed to get my replacement to come in this week but last week my agent called and told me the bad news, they couldnt contact the Filipino maid that we have chosen as the applicant.  I cant believe it, all her paperwork both from Malaysia and Phillipine has been approved under our name and all set to go, just need to buy her ticket to come here... I thought Filipino maids are more responsible and professional over Indo or Cambodia maid.. Guess not huh!! Bad first impression , for me at least!! Now I have to put baking aside cos not only I have to work full time in my office job, I also have to look after my 4yrs old boy fulltime, lucky I can bring him to work after picking him up from the kindergarten... To make matter worse, its Chinese New Year time so I cant get any part time cleaner cos all of them are full booked!! (btw, Happy Chinese New Year to all the Chinese People who celebrate it)!!

So there you go, my full excuse of my dissapearance.. hehe.. and thanks for listening to my rambling!! Anyway, although my next maid wont be coming for another 2-3months (*finger crossed*), I decided i wont totally stop baking or taking order.. I missed it too much :P  I will still take order, although it'll only be 1-2 order a month.  Sorryyyy for those customers who I rejected, but hope you understand.. its only temporary!! :)))

I have tons of photos to be uploaded too, so without further do, heres are the cakes that were longgg overdue!!! better late than never hey!! :P

This LV Multicoloure Monogram inspired design was a simple one, the reason was cos I was soo sick few days before this order due and for the first time, I had to call to cancel my order as Im unable to make 16  3D LV bags for her, but she was so sweet to tell me to do whatever I can and if really cant, then its also fine.. So yeah.. cant dissapoint a sweet understanding customer like that, I managed to make 1 3D bag and the rest just a very simple design :)

Heres another simple order from a customer whose order I have twice rejected due to me being in overseas.  So although I had two other order that weekend, I told her I will do the cupcakes for her son's 2nd birthday as I felt so bad each time I had to turn her down.. The design was from her, it was taken from her son's favourite ABC's cartoon book!!



This was my failed attempt to make a VW car as I think it looked far from it.. :(( luckily it was my close friend who ordered it and I did warn her that I have never attempted to do a 3D car and dont think i can do a good job - true enough.. im kinda embarrased but learned a lot from my mistake!!
I guess practice makes perfect hey!
